Field Trip!

Look at them holding their glasses correctly!

I’ve been very lucky this semester because I have awesome students who are engaged and genuinely interested in learning about the culture of wine in Italy.  Last week we had our field trip to the Al Vino Al Vino where they were able to experience wine how the Romans do instead of in a classroom.  I decided to choose wines we would not taste in class so we enjoyed a lovely Franciacorta, a Lagrein rosato and a red wine from Marco Carpineti.  With the wines we enjoyed some lovely snacks of which, of course, Giacomo’s caponata won hands down.  Their caponata is so good!
I hope these students take a newfound love and passion for wine back home with them.  I remember when I was a study abroad student in South Australia, many, many year ago, and visited wineries and tasted great wines.  It was an eye opener for me which fueled the passion for wine I had today.

  1. I didn't realize you have students. That's awesome, and the two young ladies seated next to each other are cute! I hope they're old enough to drink.

  3. One can really enjoy Rome's cuisines and delicacies. Not to mention that the place is a great country to learn about the arts.
